Having drawn inspiration from trees and their very
existence ever since the inception of life on earth, artist Bhaskar Rao feels
proud to have given voice to these underrated yet vital beings through his
canvas. As a teacher and Dean of Arts at Loyola Academy, he inspires his
students to be creative and passionate about art. He has obtained his
bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Andhra University and a master’s degree
from University of Hyderabad. He is being bestowed with Lalit Kala Academy
award from Karnataka government and Karnataka Rajyotsavaaward.

JOGEN CHOWDHURY
Jogen Chowdhury,
a distinguished artist of 21st century, was born in Faridpur, Bengal
in 1939. Hewent to study art at Government College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata.
He later went to École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris to study art further. Most of his
popular artworks were made in ink, water colours and pastels. The influence of
various political movements in artist’s life are vividly projected in his works
in the form of sadness and dark narrative with characters from Bengal portrayedin
expressionist style. His works have a refined cognizance attached to every
canvas. Yet his art has evolved based on changing narrative and temperament. Jogen
has worked in Madras Handlooms and art Gallery of Rashtrapati Bhavan before
working as a professor in Shantiniketan. He has exhibited his works
across the world. He has been bestowed with KalidasSanman by Government of
Madhya Pradesh and Prix le France de la
JeunePeintureaward in Paris.
